MLB Pick for August 5, 2011:
Spread: Cleveland Indians +1.5/Texas Rangers -1.5
Over/Under: 9
In tonight's match up the Indians will be debuting their newest acquisition of Ubaldo Jimenez (6-9, 4.42 ERA) while the Rangers will be throwing their reliable lefthander Derek Holland (10-4, 4.14 ERA). I know that Jimenez hasn't been reaching his stats from last season but the Indians organization is hoping that he can help pitch them past the Detroit Tigers to win the AL Central. Yes, pitching is great but without a strong offensive team and a lack of run support I don't see the Indians surpassing the Tigers. The Rangers on the other hand look to deal the Indians and Jimenez a loss tonight by posting quite a few runs tonight.
Note:
Texas Rangers are 11-3 in their last 14 games at home and are 5-0 in their last 5 games against Cleveland.
