Daily Bet - Pirates vs Braves

Written by: Josh Hammer, The Reserve Clause

I am still in disbelief from the Red Sox and Royals game! It's unreal to me that with all the bats the Red Sox have, they couldn't string together more than 1 run against Kyle Davies and his 7.32 ERA. I am going to steer this ship straight with tonight's pick and satisfy all you sports betting fanatics!

MLB Pick for July 26, 2011:

Spread: Pittsburgh Pirates +1.5/Atlanta Braves -1.5
Over/Under: 6.5

In tonight's match up we have the Pirates throwing Jeff Karstens (7-4, 2.27 ERA) while the Braves will have Tommy Hanson (11-5, 3.06 ERA) managing the rubber. This series could hold serious implications for the NL wildcard. I look for a score of 4-3 at the MINIMUM! The Braves got Chipper Jones back, he homered last night, and also Brian McCann will be back in the lineup tonight to bring a 1-2 punch and score some runs. Pittsburgh has shown that they can and will grind out games to get the W. In order to stay in contention with the NL Central, they are going to have to play some hard nose baseball. I look for tonight's game to be close and very competitive. Look for this match up to hit the over by the 7th inning.

MY PICK: OVER of 6.5
